A Ghostly Patrol

Okay, I must admit that my artistic aesthetic is somewhat myopic most of my adult life. Thanks to Acton, I am have been introduced to the world of street/underground art and am starting to learn more about this 'movement'. Last Friday, I came across an art exhibition that was completely opposite to what I think street art would be. Soft yet edgy, child-like yet insightful, Melbourne-based artist Ghost Patrol puts "childhood nostalgia and pop culture" into his artwork. Somehow, the mash-up of these two elements is nowhere near juvenile or provocative. If anything, it taught me one thing: if you care to venture out of your own world and what you know, you will be amazed with what you discover. Just like a child, again.
