Steven Stipelman

I came across Steven Stipelman when I first started fashion school, through his book titled "Illustrating Fashion: Concept to Creation". Born in New York in 1944, he studied fashion in The Fashion Institute of Technology. His first major job involved drawing for fashion advertisement and catalogues for NY's Henri Bendel. In 1965, he started working for Womens Wear Daily, covering major events and reporting on the who's who wearing who's who. He had since worked for Estee Lauder, Charles of Ritz, Orlane & Clairol, Vogue, Simplicity Patterns, Marshall Fields, Lord & Taylor and fashion/textiles companies like Celanese, Du Pont Adele Simpson, Helga and Hanes had also used his illustrations. He lectures at various fashion schools including Parsons School of Design, FIT and Art Institute of Philadelphia. Made an honorary member of ITAA in 1993, his book was first published in 1996
