Hello Spring!

Not.Quite.There.Yet. Thought I'll start off the month with some cool videos I saw from one of my daily newletters, NY Fashion Alert.

First cab off the rank - "In Bloom" by photographer and film maker Fumi Nagasaka, a collaborative tribute with Dazed And Confused Digital dedicated to the victims of the March 2011 Japanese earthquake. Featuring Andrej Pejic, it is both beautiful and fragile; as signified by the cherry blossom images superimposed in the footage. According to Nagasaka, after so many days of hearing sad news, a new hope sprang when she saw on TV the arrival of the cherry blossom season which traditionally in Japan harks cheerful festivities. Symbol of life's ephemeral nature, the cherry blossom or "sakura" also serves to inspire the Japanese fighting spirit.

To the people of Japan, I share the world's hope that the land of the rising sun will stay strong as it rebuilds itself. The next video is "Painted Eyes" by Hercules and Love Affair

Directed by Untitled Associates, it features model Iekeliene Stange
