White House Days

Inspired by Richard Nicoll's pink pleated dress, I initially set out to look for some amazing dresses to feature a on my blog. With Google returning very limited blog-worthy images, imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a series of black and white photographs by Mark Shaw (1921-1969). Shaw was best known for being the unofficial photographer for the Kennedys, during their years in the White House. He was also a top fashion photographer for publications like Harper's Bazaar, Mademoiselle, Vanity Fair and LIFE. During his time, he has photographed celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Pablo Picasso, Coco Chanel and other famous people. A number of his work has been used in books, such as Hepburn's "Charmed By Audrey" and more notably, "The J F Kennedy: A Family Album"
