Electric Furs and Crazy Petals

When Frida Giannini brought Angelica Huston and Florence Welch (of Florence and The Machine) together, she meant 70's glam for the day and long, sexy halter dresses for the evening. Yes yes, Florence seemed to dominate Gucci's Fall 2011 Collection, with those billowing evening dresses and petal-inspired boleros. However I couldn't see the 70's Huston reference in it. Instead, I see the style of  1940's WWII female agents in military inspired ensemble of squarish jackets and tailored bottoms; glamming it up with electric-coloured furs and stylish accessories. All in all, another smashing collection for Gucci, which has been enjoying major publicity in magazines and with the Hollywood crowd
