NZ-bred fashion illustrator and art director,
Kelly Thompson has certainly mastered the art of illustrating of, what I call, effortless sensuality. Neither explicit nor innocent, her subject revolves around the female face and body in fashion poses that you'll see from magazines. Not surprising because according to the excerpt on
Invurt, her illustrations are drawn from the fashion photographs she had taken but never quite make it to print. What I like is the way she draws the eyes , which sets the mood for her illustrations. Graduated from Massey University in a Bachelor of Design, her work has been used in art and design publications such as
Karen,
Yen and
Lucire.
