Pitti Pugh

Back in April, I did a blog on Ruth Hogben but did not include the video she did with Gareth Pugh, for his Pitti event. Revisiting Hogben in this post, Pugh was a previous guest designer for the Italian tradeshow. Set in Florence's Orsanmichele Church, Pugh chose to do an exclusive collection (as opposed to a pre-collection) and delivered the show through video presentation, engineered by Hogben. Taking inspiration from religious iconography such as the use of gold in paintings and blue in religious costumes, he explained that "the beauty and emotions" of the clothes captured in the video outweighs a 'traditional' runway show, which may sometimes have technical issues and unexpected visual effects. So here is Pugh's collection for Pitti on 17 January 2011

Here is Pugh explaining his inspiration, design and vision for this exclusive collection for Pitti

All in all, very very cool
