"We've Met At The Met"

The Met's Costume Institute hosts a gala event every May. Started fashion personality Eleanor Lambert Berkson (1903 - 2003) in 1948, the gala night is held as a primary fund-raising event in coincidence with the opening of its bi-annual exhibitions, the first one in spring. This year, the thematic exhibition celebrates the 19-year career of Alexander McQueen, titled "Alexander Mcqueen: Savage Beauty". Led by its Honorary Trustee Anna Wintour, 2011 is co-chaired by Stella McCartney, Colin Firth, Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault. As usual, the event had the A-listers dressed to the nines - mostly in Mcqueen or McCartney's creations
