Based on a book by award-winning Japanese-born British writer, Kazuo Ishiguro, this movie features an interestingly sinister plot of a possible future (which I hope will never happen) of our society. Bordering on a love story, its 3-part story explores the intertwining lives of the 3 main characters who were raised in an idyllic but protected environment to eventually become organ donors. With a beautiful cast of Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield, the movie and the book evokes questions on moral ethics versus medical technology. I will not give too much away, but I'd just like to add that it will leave you wondering the extent a society will go through to seek human longevity.
Even though it's from a fictional singer, I see the irony of this beautiful song lies in a helpless person asking for the society not to forsake her, knowing the grim, pre-determined fate she would eventually have to face. A story of love, betrayal and hope, we look through the eyes of Kathy H
May I also add that being at the movie with a special someone, though the movie was sad, made it memorable and memorable for all the right reasons :-)
