Dagobert Peche (1887-1923) was a Viennese artist and decorative arts designer, who joined the Secession's
Wiener Werkstatte in 1914. He initially studied mechanical engineering before switching to architecture at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste. Upon completion, he started designing industrial mass production of home objects like carpets and china. In 1916, two years after he joined the Werkstatte, he became the director of the institute. During his time there until his death in 1923, he designed more than 3000 objects including furniture, book bindings, jewellery and textiles. His rounded and eclectic style was different from the geometric aesthetics of his predecessors like Moser and Hoffmann, which show in many of his designs below
