Truth to be told, I don't pay much attention to American designers. That is why when everyone raves about
Marc Jacobs, I always go "why?". Not scornful, but in a good curious way. So I put forth my question to one of my friends, because he cited Jacobs as his favourite designer. According to Howard, "he puts together colours and prints and they just work out so well. That is skilful!" I didn't quite get what Howard meant until I saw
Jacobs'
Spring 2012 RTW, where he put together patent with
gingham, irisdescent with
argyle and textured with transparent. Maybe Howard is right, Jacobs has definitely got it right :)
